And before he... died... he told me that he... [whispers] he said he was my son. Explain to me... and you have my word I will believe you. How is this my handwriting if I don't remember writing it?" Eloise "Because you haven't written it yet. I know this is hard to understand, but... what you just did... it was an accident, and I think that there's a way for you to take it all back." Hurley "Who's the President of the United States?" Pierre "All right, dude, we're from the future. Sorry." Hurley

  16. Kate getting on the sub with Juliet and Sawyer. Awwwwkwwwaaaaarddddd....
Notes:
  1. Richard Alpert building the ship in a bottle is just awesome.
  2. Locke coming into the camp with a boar on his back is also awesome.
  3. I'm a little confused as to why Richard Alpert thinks that he watched them all die.
  4. The compass, which exchanges hands between John Locke and Richard Alpert, exists in a self-contained temporal paradox in that it is never actually created. There is no physical origin point for it. Richard gives the compass to a time-shifting Locke, in Because You Left, and John, who then returns it to Richard in the 1950s, in Jughead, tells Richard to give it back to himself in this episode. Richard then shows it to a young John Locke in Cabin Fever. This was intentionally written into the story by the LOST producers. I don't even care if it is a paradox, it's just awesome.
  5. Okay, so Jack's plan is to wipe the slate clean, to have a fresh start for all of them. My problem with this is that Jack is selfish and he doesn't realize that this isn't the greatest idea for everyone else. I mean, seriously, he doesn't consider that if the plane lands in Los Angeles that Kate is then going to jail? And then he's surprised that she doesn't want to go along with his plan. What a douche.
  6. Who knew that Horace Goodspeed was just a pushover.
  7. Also, have a mentioned that Radzinsky is annoying and the most disappointing character ever?
  8. Phil is such a d. I can't wait until he dies.
  9. Jimmy Carter was President of the United States in 1977.
  10. The scene where Locke tells Richard to go back and tell himself that he has to bring everyone back to the island and that he has to die is where it all begins.
  11. Okay, nice try, but Kate totally wasn't going to die.
  12. I love how Sayid just lurks in the jungle with a gun waiting to find people to kill.
  13. Jack is definitely the new John Locke, accept not as good, or even good at all. I do like that he admits that maybe he was wrong, though.
  14. When Sawyer tells Juliet to get on the sub first, and then hesitates, I really thought that he was going to make her leave without him.
  15. Richard tells Locke that the rest of the Others are at the Temple, which is where they were ordered by Ben three years earlier, in Through the Looking Glass.
  16. I'm starting to think that no one has ever met Jacob, which makes me wonder how the Jacob mythology even started to begin with. I don't even think Richard has met him, so I'm suspicious has to whether or not he is behind all of this Jacob business.
  17. You have to thin that when Kate gets on the sub with Sawyer and Juliet, that Juliet is just thinking "Oh, come on! We can't get away from this chick!"
  18. ABC is owned by Disney. You'd think they could do a better submarine than that.
  19. Regardless of it not being the real John Locke, him being such a badass and a smartass is pretty great.
  20. This episode is allegedly a Richard Alpert-centric episode. What a disappointment. I really hope we get his story in the near future. I have a feeling that we will be getting it soon...
  21. Richard Alpert is the constant because he is in both time lines.
  22. I really like this episode, especially on repeated watching.
