2.17 Lockdown

1. John is packing a picnic, he's going to ask Helen to marry him.
2. Helen reads the obituaries, Anthony Cooper is dead.
3. Henry Gale tells Jack and Locke about the map, that he was just kidding. Jack tells him to draw it again, but Locke says that it's too late. Jack tells Locke to put Henry back in the armory, and Henry asks why he lets Jack talk to him that way, which angers Locke
4. Sayid, Charlie and Ana Lucia search for Jennifer Gale's grave, Charlie finds it, and they find the balloon Henry claims took him to the island in the trees above them, "Proudly Sponsored By" Mr. Cluck's Chicken Shack, Nozz-a-La Cola, a Widmore Labs logo, and Minnesota Metallurgy & Mining Co. logo. 5. Jack checks on Aaron, who is now no longer sick.
6. Locke rides the exercise bike in the hatch, plays music, he hears voices on the loud speaker, 20 minutes to Lockdown, Locke tries to fix the speaker, feedback, 17 minutes to Lockdown, Henry asks what's the matter, what's going on.
7. Anthony Cooper's funeral, John and Helen are the only ones there, two guys watch from a distance, a car also.
8. "I forgive you." John says at Anthony's funeral.
9. In the Hatch, protocol, please proceed, countdown from 10, blast doors come down, but Locke manages to stick a crowbar underneath the door.
10. Locke is a home inspector in California, he inspects Nadia's house, he asks her about her husband, but she says she's not married. From Lostpedia
11. Locke sees the same car from his father's funeral, it's Anthony Cooper, he says he faked his death because the guys from the funeral that were watching were after him, he took them for $700,000, a retirement scam, the money is in a safe deposit box, wants John to get it for him and keep $200,000, says he'll understand if he never sees him again.
12. Locke tells Henry about the blast doors, asks him for help, Henry agrees but makes a deal for Locke to protect him.
13. Jack plays Sawyer in Texas Hold'em for the medicine.
14. Henry and Locke try to pry the blast door up, but it comes down on Locke's leg, traps him underneath, Henry tries to help Locke. From Lostpedia
15. Locke goes to safe deposit box 1516, gets the money.
16. When Locke goes home, there are two guys from the funeral waiting for him, asking about Anthony Cooper, if John knows if he's still alive, if he's seen him, he says no, they look in his bag and there are work papers, no money, Helen asks if he was lying, but Locke says that he was just scared.
17. Locke tells Henry Gale about the button, to go through the vent in the pantry, Henry falls and hits his head, is knocked out.
18. Jack catches Sawyer dealing from the bottom of the deck.
19. Jack wins in poker, takes all of Sawyer's fruit and the medicine, Sawyer asks why he didn't want the guns.
20. "When I need the guns, I'll get the guns." Jack
21. Henry wakes up while the timer is going off, he goes through the vent.
22. John at a hotel, an Oceanic Airlines plane flies overhead, he gives Anthony Cooper his money, and Anthony leaves John his, but Locke says that he didn't do it for the money. Anthony asks about Helen, John tells him that he's going to ask her to marry him that night.
23. When Anthony opens the door to leave, Helen is there, she followed John.
24. "Are you him?" Helen asks Anthony.
25. She leaves, but John follows her, asks her to marry him, but she says no and leaves, there is another Oceanic plane that flies overhead.
26. The alarm for the computer and the button is going off, numbers flipping sound, light out, then there is a black light that goes on, a map on the blast door in front of Locke. From Lostpedia
27. A few moments later, the doors go up, and Henry comes back.
28. Kate wants to go to the hatch for a shower, but Jack tells her the pipes are busted, they see a flashing light in the jungle, a beacon, a parachute, pallet, food drop, they run into Sayid, Charlie and Ana Lucia on their way back from the balloon. From Lostpedia
29. Henry says that he put in the numbers, but nothing happened, the clock flipped back, and then nothing, crawled back into the vent, and then the doors came up, the lights back on.
30. Sayid says that they found the balloon, the grave, but Sayid didn't believe it, so he dug up the grave, found a man's body, named Henry Gale.
31. "We did find your balloon, Henry Gale, exactly how you described it. We also found the grave you described. Your wife's grave. The grave you said you dug with your own bare hands. It was all there. Your whole story, your alibi, it was true. But still, I did not believe it to be true. So I dug up that grave and found that there was not a woman inside. There was a man." Sawyer's comment about Jack getting the art on his shoulder in Phuket, amongst Kate asking where Jack got his tattoos from earlier in House of the Rising Sun, opened up the vault for the possibly the worst episode ever, Stranger In A Strange Land, where there is an entire episode about Jack going to Phuket and getting a tattoo.

3. In Solitary, Sayid states that Nadia is dead to Rousseau, but we clearly see that Nadia is alive and well in this episode.

2.16 The Whole Truth

1. Sun and Jin have been trying to have a baby for a year. Jin thinks that Sun's father will back away if she is pregnant. Sun wants to see a fertility doctor.
2. Jin doesn't want Sun to be alone, working on her garden because that's where she was attacked, he rips up her garden.
3. Ana Lucia running, Locke tells her about Henry Gale, that he's been down there for 3 days.
4. "You were running like the devil's chasin' ya." Locke "Maybe he is." Ana
5. Rose and Bernard are arguing, they find Sun lightheaded.
6. Sun in hotel room, Seoul Gateway Hotel, learning English for Jae Lee, tells her that she should tell Jin about everything.
7. Locke shaves while Jack is in the shower, tells him they should bring in new blood, meaning Ana Lucia, Jack agrees and says he'll ask her, but Locke already did. From Lostpedia
8. Ana tells Henry she was in the tail section, crashed on the other side of the island, walked across the island, about Nathan, that she was wrong about him.
9. "But good news for you, Henry, I don't make the same mistake twice." Ana Lucia
10. Sun asks Sawyer for a pregnancy test while he is reading the book Are You There, God? It's me, Margaret, by Judy Blume. Sawyer gives it to her.
11. Henry tells Ana his story, that he's told everyone already. She asks him why he doesn't have a beard, she wants him to draw a map to his balloon so she can find out if he's lying.
12. "You people have been looking for someone to punish for everything that's happened to you, someone to blame, and now you've got him. It doesn't matter what I do, I'm dead already." Henry Gale
13. Sun takes the pregnancy test with Kate, it's from Widmore Labs, she asks Kate if she ever took one, Kate says yes, and Sun is pregnant. From Lost Hatch
14. Sun and Jin go to a fertility Doctor, Dr. Kim, he says that Sun can't have children.
15. Ana Lucia tells Jack that Henry told her the same story he's told everyone, that she wants more time, but she'll talk to him tomorrow, she wants him to think.
16. Sayid and Charlie are building a dining table, Ana asks to talk to Sayid, but Sayid says anything she has to say can be said in front of Charlie. She shows him the map to the balloon, says she didn't tell anyone, that she wants to go find it. From Lostpedia From Lost Hatch

23. Jin fixes Sun's garden, tells her he's sorry, that he needs her, she tells him she's pregnant.
24. Fertility Dr. Kim finds Sun, says Jin is the one who can't have children, that he couldn't say so because of her father.
25. Sun tells Jin about Dr. Kim, swears she's never been with anyone else, Jin says it's a miracle, they agree to name the baby after Jin's father and Sun's mother.
26. "Men reject their prophets and slay them, but they love their martyrs and honor those whom they have slain. So what's the difference between a martyr and a prophet?" Henry reads his book to Jack.
27. Jack lets Henry out of the armory, gives him some cereal, Henry tells them about the map, neither Jack nor Locke knew.
28. "Wow, you guys have some real trust issues, don't you? Guess it makes sense she didn't tell you. I mean, with the two of you fighting all the time. Of course, if I was one of them, these people that you seem to think are your enemies--what would I do? Well, there'd be no balloon, so I'd draw a map to a real secluded place like a cave or some underbrush, good place for a trap, an ambush, and when your friends got there a bunch of my people would be waiting for them. 2.14 One of Them

1. Iraq, Gulf War, bombing, shredding documents, Sayid says his commanding officer isn't there, Kate's dad, Sargent Sam Austen is in US Army, Sayid tells him officer fled to Hillah.
2. Ana Lucia tells Sayid she saw Rousseau, he tells her to go back, Rousseau takes him to a trap she set, Sayid is weary.
3. Sayid translates between his commanding officer and the US Army Sargent Austen, they want to know where a pilot is, Tariq tells Sayid that he is a disgrace, to kill them.
4. Sawyer finds Hurley with his stash of food. From Lost Hatch
5. Danielle takes Sayid to a man she caught in one of her traps. Henry Gale, from Minnesota. Sayid cuts him down, he starts to run, but Rousseau shoots him with a bow and arrow that she made, she believes he's one of them.

9. Sayid wakes Locke, shows him Henry Gale, he says 4 months ago he crashed in his balloon trying to cross the Pacific, wife died 3 weeks ago, Sayid believes he is suspicious, he tells Jack not to untie him.
10. Jack removes the arrow from Henry, Locke says Gale is convincing. Sayid asks Locke to change the combination on the armory.
11. They put Gale in the armory, Sayid locks himself in with Henry.
12. Sayid tortures Tariq to get information. The pilot of the plane was executed 2 days ago, buried in a field 4 kilometers away, he tells Joe Inman.
13. "Sayid, you are a loyal soldier. The son of a great hero. Do not disgrace your father!" Tariq
14. Jack questions Locke and Sayid's decision to torture Henry, that he might be telling the truth, but Locke asks what if he is lying.
15. Henry Gale says he and his wife stayed on the beach, had ADF beacon, wife's maiden name was Murphy, they met at the University of Minnesota, she got sick, started as a fever, after 2 days she was delirious.
16. Sayid says he was 23 years old when the Americans came to Iraq, he was a good man, a soldier, but that it changed him, the next 6 years he tortured men.
17. "There is a part of me which was always capable. You want to know who I am? My name is Sayid Jarrah and I am a torturer." Sayid
18. Henry says his balloon is 140 feet high, 60 feet wide, 55,000 cubic feet of helium, 100,000 of hot air to keep her up, big yellow smiley face. He was rich, it was his dream, Jennifer though it would be neat, so he sold his mining company, non-metallic metals, he buried his wife in the jungle by his balloon.

1. Henry Gale is the name of Dorothy's uncle in the 1939 film, The Wonderful Wizard of OZ, where he arrived in the land of OZ when his balloon took him there by mistake.
2. Henry Gale is "one of them," meaning the others, and Sayid is "one of them" when he works with the Americans in the Gulf War.
3. This is the first time we see Henry Gale, or Benry. What were we getting ourselves into, Benjamin Linus?
4. The Sayid and Henry Gale scenes are so powerful, kudos to Naveen Andrews and Michael Emerson. I really love those scenes.
5. The apparent whispers when Jack is pulling Sayid off of Henry Gale, From Dark UFO: Too close (Right after Henry says “I’ll tell you whatever you want”). Don't talk to them (Behind "He's lying"). 7. The whispers during the interrogation/torture scene, From Dark UFO: Maybe we should have stopped it/him. Try to execute. We've got to see if we can get through to him (Sayid: Tell me about this balloon). Get off for a second (Henry: What?). Something's blocking it. It's right beside him (Sayid: This balloon that brought you here with your wife). Go ahead and do it. Might have heard from him. My eyes hurt (Henry: What do you want to know). Is he gonna give it away? He's interrogating him (Sayid: Everything). Calmly begin speaking and act completely. So, it's okay. We can get you through this ordeal. We are minding the radio (Henry: She's a hundred and forty feet high, sixty feet wide.) It ain't sixty feet. It can't be much taller than that, maybe a hundred footer (Henry: and when she's up in the air, 550,000 cubic feet of helium.) Clearly he thought you were on top if it. Clearly he's not too on top of it. That gives more to do. (Henry: And if you could look down on her.) He's on to him. Probably blew it. (Henry: you'd see a.) So, he buys it. He played him. (Henry: big yellow smiley face on top) It's not quite ready. I need help. They don't believe him. (Sayid: Why would you travel in that way?) Tell him "for my business." Why else would he do it? (Henry: Because I was rich.) Any country might have fit. Just stay calm and he won't hurt you. (Henry: It was my dream.) I know you're doing something. Screwed something up. He "beeped" it up. I don't know how else to put it.
