5.10 He's Our You

1. Tikrit, Iraq--a father tells his son to act like a man, he's urging his son to kill a chicken, his son says he doesn't want to, but he says to do as your father asks, he makes his son stay outside until he does, but the son's younger brother comes, puts his arm around him, he takes birdseed and feeds the chickens, then grabs one, snaps its neck, the father comes and congratulations his son on killing the chicken, says good for you, you did it, but the first son says that it wasn't him, the father realizes that it was his younger son who killed the chicken, he says at least one of you will be a man, the younger one is Sayid, the father says well done. 4. Ben brings Sayid his sandwich, and a book, A Separate Reality, he says that he read it twice, it's good, Sayid says thank you, Ben asks if Richard sent him, asks he's his leader right, Sayid looks at the camera that is watching them, Ben says that it's just a camera, that they can see but they can't hear, Ben says that four years ago, he ran into the jungle, and Richard found him, he said he wanted to leave, that he wanted to join them, so he's been patient, and if Sayid is patient too, he thinks he can help him. Moscow--man running through door, in apartment, someone is chasing him, he locks the door behind him, goes in another room, security code, opens a safe, Sayid busts the door down, points his gun at him, the man offers him money, Sayid shoots him anyway, with a silencer on the gun, he leaves, it's night, he goes through a gate, Ben is waiting, Sayid says the man tried to bribe him, that it didn't work, Ben says of course it didn't, Sayid asks where to now, Ben says nowhere, that he's done, Sayid asks what he means, Ben says they're done, Andropov was the last one, he says that Sayid has taken care of everyone who posed a threat to his friends, he says that it's been a pleasure working with him, Sayid says so that's it, he killed all those people for him, and now he's just walking away, Ben says he didn't kill them for him, that he's the one who asked for all those names, Ben says that there's no one else in Widmore's organization that they need to go after, he says congratulations, mission accomplished, Sayid asks what does he do now, Ben says that he supposes he should go live his life, he tells Sayid that he's free. Radzinsky and Horace meet with Sayid, Horace tells him to put out his hands, he cuts off his handcuffs, Sayid says thank you, Horace says it's nice to finally hear your voice, says his name is Horace, now is the part where you tell me your name, he says he needs Sayid to tell him what he was doing out there, Radzinsky says to ask him about the model, Horace says he has it, he says those handcuffs, asks if he's having some kind of problem with his people, because either he's having some sort of disagreement, which makes him want to help, or he's a spy trying to infiltrate them, Horace asks Sayid so which is it, Sayid doesn't answer, Horace says he'll give him an hour, to decide whether he wants to talk to him, but if he decides he doesn't want to, then he's going to have to take this to the next level.
9. Sawyer comes into the kitchen, which has bacon burning on the stove, Juliet looking out the window, Sawyer asks what's on the TV, Jack and Kate are outside the window, Juliet asks if it's over, she says isn't it, this, us, playing house, all of it, says they never actually thought they'd come back, Sawyer says it hasn't changed anything, Juliet asks what if Sayid says something, Sawyer says he won't, he says he has this under control, there's a knock at the door.
10. Horace says he just spoke to the prisoner, that they have a problem, La Fleur asks why, what did he say, Horace says that he said nothing, which is what worries him, he needs him to tell why he violated the truce, he's going to have to have Oldham do his thing on him La Fleur says that psychopath, no way, Horace says that it's his only choice, La Fleur says to let him have a go at him, he'll talk to him.
11. Security station, La Fleur tells Phil to take his lunch, Phil asks if he's going back there alone, La Fleur tells him to leave, he asks Sayid how he's doing, Sayid says that a 12 year old Ben Linus brought him a chicken salad sandwich, asks how does he think he's doing, Sayid asks how he could live with him here, Sawyer says he doesn't have a choice, Sayid says is that so, Sawyer says to see how you feel after three years of living in the 70s, that it's lucky for him, he spent that time getting in a position to save his ass, he says sorry to Sayid, then hits him, he says he's going to tell them that he got a confession, he needs them to believe that he didn't get it easily, Sayid will say he was trying to defect, that he'll offer intel in exchange for living with them, Sayid asks why in God's name would he want to do that, Sawyer asks what the hell else he's supposed to do with that, Sayid says to let him go, asks him why not, Sawyer says these people trust him, either he cooperates and joins the party, or he's on his own, Sayid says then he guesses he's on his own.

In the DHARMA cafeteria, Geronimo Jackson poster on the wall, Hurley with food, he brings Jack and Kate breakfast, dipping sauces, he's a DHARMA chef, he asks them what's going on with Sayid, Jack says that he doesn't know anything yet, Kate says that he was at Sawyer's last night, Jack says he told him to leave him alone and let him do his job, Hurley asks if he's going to, Kate says she'll talk to Juliet, see what she'll tell her, Hurley asks why Juliet would tell them anything if Sawyer won't, Kate asks why, Hurley says because they're together, like living together, like not as roommates, together like Jack and Kate were, he says that he thought it was kind of obvious, who couldn't see that coming, Jack stops him, Hurley says he's going to make some more waffles, Kate asks Jack if he knew, he says yeah.

Roger Linus cleaning up Security station, talks to Sayid, he says that he can't figure out how the hell he got caught, that his people are supposed to be smart, and how dumb is he that he got captured by these idiots, Sayid says and yet he's the one mopping up after them, Roger says he'll see how cute he is once Oldham gets done with him, Ben comes in with food, sees his dad there, says he was bringing him a sandwich, Roger says he's never made a sandwich in his life, Ben says he made one for himself, Roger grabs him, hurts him, Ben says he made sandwich for him, Roger asks who told him, Ben says he just thought, Roger tells him to go home, that he'll tell him what to think.
15. Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic--Sayid working on houses, Ben shows up, Sayid asks how he found him, Ben says he looked, Sayid asks what he wants, Ben says that John Locke is dead, that he thinks he was murdered, Sayid asks why anyone would kill him, Ben says that he'd say it was retribution for the work they did, so then Sayid is in danger, if he can find him, so can the people who found Locke, just like they're watching Hugo, he says that a man in a Sedan has been there all week, just waiting, presumably for Sayid or him to show their faces, Ben says that's why he's there, Sayid says he actually came all this way to suggest that he kill this man, Ben asks if he doesn't want to, Sayid says what makes him think that he wants to, Ben says because he's capable of things that most other men aren't, that every choice he's made in his life, whether it was to murder, or to torture, hasn't really been a choice, that it's in his nature, it's what he is, he's a killer, Sayid says that he's not what he thinks he is, that he doesn't like killing, Ben says that then he apologizes, that he was mistaken about him. In a DHARMA van, Horace, Radzinsky, Phil, take Sayid out of van, music is playing, a tent, fire, Billie Holiday, they call Oldham out, ask if he's ready, Sayid asks Sawyer who is that man, Sawyer says he's our you, Oldham comes out, takes out a needle, injects something into a sugar cube, possibly some kind of LSD, he says they'd better put him in the restraints, they handcuff Sayid to a tree, he fights them, Oldham says don't worry, they're for his protection, he says there are side effects to what he's giving him, he tells them to open his mouth, he puts the sugar cube in, they force Sayid's mouth closed, Oldham tells Sayid not to be afraid, to turn his mind off, and let it take effect, he says that it's beyond his control, so fighting it is a poor use, whether he struggles or not, one thing is for sure, he will tell them the truth. They have a meeting, Horace asks what they do with him, Radzinsky says they kill him, La Fleur says hold on, that they're not killing anyone, Horace says that he violated the truce, La Fleur asks since when did they start acting like them, he says that they're civilized, Horace says they are, that they have a rule of law, and they've given him every opportunity to defend himself, Radzinsky says he's seen things, that he's obviously a spy, La Fleur says he was escaping, that he obviously has problems with his people, Radzinsky says and sharing secrets are the quickest way to solve those problems, Horace says he's going to need a little time to consider, Radzinsky says the longer he's among them, the more danger they're in, La Fleur says he can talk to him, that he just needs more time, Radzinsky says he had his time, tells Horace they need to vote, make a decision, either that or he'll call Ann Arbor, and they'll make it for them, Amy says Radzinsky's right, she tells Horace please, that she can't sleep with one eye open, they have a baby now, they have to think about Ethan, they have to think about all the children there, she asks how are they going to feel safe with this man around, she says that she doesn't know what he's up to, but they can't keep him there, she says that they have no choice, Horace says okay, he says that they'll put it to a vote, he says all in favor of Radzinsky's solution, to raise their hand, everyone raises their hand except La Fleur, Horace says he'd really like to say it's unanimous, La Fleur raises his hand begrudgingly. Sawyer visits Sayid in his cell, tells him to hit him in the face, that he owes him one anyway, so make it a good one, Sawyer says he'll take his keys out of his pocket, let himself out, that Phil is outside, he tells Sayid he's a dimwit, that he reckons he can get his gun without him noticing, Sayid says that he appreciates what he's doing, but he's fine right there, Sawyer says they're going to kill him, they took a vote, that even a new mom wants him dead, Sayid says that he's going to stay here, calls him James, Sawyer says this morning, he was begging him to let him go, Sayid says because, when he woke up in the jungle, and he realized he was back on this island, he thought there was no purpose to it, but now he knows why he's here, Sawyer says to get shot, says he's out of his mind, he leaves.

A DHARMA van comes barreling through the barracks, on fire, crashes into a house, sets that on fire, Kate and Sawyer go to rescue, Kate pulls people out of the window, Sawyer goes to the water hydrant, tells people to grab the hose, wrenches, fire gear, asks for help, Jack comes, Sawyer says three years, there were no burning buses, and they're back for one day, Jack uses a hose to put out the fire, Sawyer gets another one, calls Phil at Security on his walkie, La Fleur, they have a fire, to get to building 15, Phil hears on his walkie, says he's on his way, he leaves the Security station unmanned. At LAX, attention passengers, Ajira Airways Flight 316, Sayid with Ilana, asks her if she's sure they're going to Guam, where else would they be going, Sayid sees Hurley and Jack, asks her a favor, sees Kate waiting to board the plane, he asks can they get the next plane, he says that he's very superstitious when it comes to flying, Ilana says she'll buy him a rabbits foot at the gift shop, Sayid sees them all on the plane, Ilana says that she's sorry about the handcuffs, but at least they're in business, they hear someone say wait up, please, thank you for not closing, Sayid sees Ben get on the plane, asks Ilana if she's working for Benjamin Linus, she asks who that is, Sayid says that he's a liar, a manipulator, a man who allowed his daughter to be murdered to save himself, a monster just short of genocide, Ilana asks why she would work for someone like that, Sayid says that he did.

Ben opens up Sayid's cell door, they leave the Security station, run through the jungle, Ben follows Sayid, a van pulls by on the path, Sayid tries to hide Ben, but the van stops, Jin gets out with a flashlight, Sayid sees him, Jin asks what he's doing here, how he got out, Sayid says that Sawyer let him go, that they were going to kill him, on walkie, Phil says that the prisoner escaped, to be on the lookout, he could be armed, Sayid says they don't know that Sawyer released him, please, he needs to keep moving, Jin says okay, let him talk to him first, he calls La Fleur, says it's Jin, but Sayid knocks Jin out, Ben is surprised, says whoa, asks where he learned to do that, he tells Sayid to come on, that they'd better go, Ben says he called La Fleur, Sayid takes Jin's gun, tells Ben that he was right about him, that he is a killer, Sayid shoots Ben in the chest, even seems somewhat remorseful about it, Sayid cries, then takes off. 5.08 La Fleur

1. After the flash, and Locke falling down the well, Sawyer is still holding onto the rope, which is in the ground, Juliet says to stop, that they can't help John, she says that wherever he went, he's gone now, and wherever they went is before that well was ever built, Miles says he'd say it's way before, he then points out the four-toed statue to the rest of them, which is now fully intact, this is pre-four-toed statue times. 2. Locke is in the hole underground where The Orchid will be, he pushes the frozen donkey wheel, which causes another, and the last, flash to occur.
3. They experience their final flash, Miles says that one was different, that it was more like an earthquake, Sawyer notices the well is back, he goes to look down it, but it's sealed up now, Juliet says her headache is gone, Miles say his is too, and his nose isn't bleeding anymore, Juliet says she thinks it's over, she thinks John did it, Jin says now what, Sawyer says now they wait for him to come back, Juliet asks for how long, Sawyer says as long as it takes.

5. Three years later--in a DHARMA station, workers wearing jumpsuits, one puts on music, a man and a woman start dancing, listening to music, another guy comes in, he says he was gone ten minutes, and now they're having a hootenanny, the other guy says that Rosie, who is wearing a Geronimo Jackson t-shirt, was just dropping off some brownies, that he should thank her, the first guy tells Jerry that she shouldn't be there, that they're on the clock, Jerry asks what's going to happen to the other guy, named Phil, asks if the polar bears are going to figure their way out of their cages, Phil says if La Fleur finds out, Rosie points out something on the monitor, Phil asks if that's a hostile, Rosie says it's Horace, he's drinking, by the pylons, setting off explosives, dynamite, Phil tells Jerry to get her out of there, he says they have to get La Fleur, Jerry asks if he really wants to wake him up at 3 am, Phil says what if Horace blows himself up, then La Fleur will kill them, he says that they have to go get La Fleur, their boss, and let him know what's going on.

La Fleur honking horn, Miles comes out, he says to relax, that he's coming, he says hey boss, La Fleur asks if he has his zapper with him, Miles says yes, to tell him why he needs it, La Fleur says because their fearless leader is out blowing up trees, Miles asks why, La Fleur says because he's loaded, Miles asks since when does Horace drink, La Fleur says that he doesn't, so keep this on the down low, they find Horace passed out at pylons, a fire, La Fleur tells Miles to put out the fire, pack up the dynamite, and he will take him home, Miles asks why he can't be the one to take him home, La Fleur asks if he wants to be the one to tell Amy.

La Fleur brings Horace home, Amy asks if he okay, asks La Fleur where he found him, he says by the Flame, blowing up trees with dynamite, he says to tell him why, Amy says they had a fight, but it's personal, La Fleur says if she doesn't think it isn't going to get out, it'll be on the coconut telegraph by breakfast, Amy says it was about Paul, suddenly she's in pain, the baby is coming.

Three years earlier--they find Daniel talking to himself in the jungle, Sawyer asks where's red, Juliet asks if he's okay, Daniel says he's not going to do it, not going to tell her, Juliet asks where's Charlotte, Daniel says she's not here, she's gone, Juliet asks where, Daniel says she's dead, there was another flash, and then she was just gone, that her body just disappeared, she moved on and they stayed, Juliet says she's so sorry, Sawyer asks Daniel if they stayed, then they're not traveling through time anymore, Daniel says that wherever they are now, whenever they are now, they're there for good, Daniel says he won't do it, Sawyer says until he checks back in, they should head back to the beach, when Locke gets back that's where they'll be looking, Miles says their camp is gone, that it doesn't matter, Juliet says Sawyer is right, they should head to the beach, Miles is frustrated, he says when they get there, then they'll want to go back to The Orchid, Sawyer says they're going, if their stuff is there, great, if not, they'll build new stuff, Miles asks who put him in charge, they start to leave, Sawyer tells Juliet thanks for getting his back on the beach idea, Juliet says it was a stupid idea, but they'll figure out something better before they get there, they suddenly hear gunshots in the jungle, then someone screaming, crying, they go to look at what it is, they see a woman pleading for her life, two men with guns approaching her, a body on the ground, they put bag over her head, Juliet asks who they think they are, Miles says who cares, they don't even know when they are, he asks Daniel if they don't get involved, Dan says it doesn't matter what they do, that whatever happened, happened, Sawyer says thanks Plato, but he's going over there, he asks Juliet if she has his back, Juliet says absolutely, Sawyer says approaches the two men, he says to drop the gun, but one guy shoots at him, Sawyer seems to deflect the bullet, then kills the guy who shot at him, and he kills the other guy, they rescue the woman, take their guns, Sawyer tells her it's alright, it's okay, that she's safe, it's over, they removed the bag from her head, and the woman is Amy, she asks Sawyer who he is. Walking through jungle with Paul's body, Sawyer says when they get there there's going to be a lot of questions, to just shut up and let him do the talking, Miles asks if he really thinks he can convince them they were in a boat wreck, Sawyer says that he's a professional, he used to lie for a living.

Juliet suddenly yells for Daniel to stop walking, they're at the pylons, Juliet tells Amy to turn it off, she says turn what off, Juliet says whatever that is, it looks like some sort of sonic fence or something, Amy asks where they said their ship was going, Sawyer says they just saved her life, so why doesn't she just trust them and turn that thing off, Amy says okay, goes to box, does something, says it's off, Sawyer says for her to go first, she goes through, she's fine, nothing happens, so they all begin to walk through the pylons, but they get shocked by the sonic fence, Amy takes out her earplugs. Three years later--Amy is giving birth, the Doctor says she's going to be okay, to trust him, and relax, he asks where Horace is, La Fleur says he's unavailable, the Doctor says the baby is breached, upside down, that she needs cesarean, that he's just an intern, he's not an obstetrician, he says she was supposed to deliver on the mainland in two weeks, the baby is early, La Fleur asks if he can deliver the baby or not, the Doctor says he doesn't know, La Fleur leaves, he goes to a group of mechanics, fixing DHARMA vans, finds Juliet working there, La Fleur says Amy's having her baby, that she's in trouble, the Doctor says she needs cesarean, Juliet says they have an agreement, La Fleur says the Doctor has never done one, but he's guessing that she has, Juliet says doesn't he understand that every time she's tried to help a woman on the island give birth, it hasn't worked, La Fleur says that maybe it hasn't happened yet, but she has to try to help her, he tells Juliet that she's the only one who can, Juliet goes.

24. An alarm goes off, Phil says to get inside, everyone begins running around, Phil brings them to a house, tells the woman inside to keep an eye on them, through the window, they see Richard Alpert arrive with a torch at the barracks, Sawyer says uh oh.
25. Barracks, it's dark, Richard is waiting, Horace goes out to speak to him, says hello Mr. Alpert, that he wishes he would've told him he was coming, that would've turned the fence off, Richard says the fence may keep the others out, but not them, the only thing that does keep them out is their truce, which he's now broken, Horace says doesn't know what he's talking about, Richard asks where are his two men.
26. "I wish you would've told me you were coming. I would've turned the fence off for you." Horace "That fence may keep other things out, but not us. The only thing that does keep us out, Horace, is our truce... which you've now broken." Richard
27. Miles says getting on the sub sounds like great idea, Sawyer says no one is getting on the sub.

Horace comes in, asks La Fleur how well he buried the bodies, La Fleur says it depends on how hard he looks, Horace says to call The Arrow, tell them they're on at condition one, take the heavy ordinance, make sure the fence is at maximum, Phil says yes sir, La Fleur says to let him talk to Richard, Horace says he doesn't understand, they had a truce with these men, La Fleur says he's the one who killed them, and he's going to explain why he did it, Horace says he can't let him do that, La Fleur says he isn't asking his permission, Juliet asks if he's sure he knows what he's doing, La Fleur says not yet, but he'll figure something out.

Sawyer goes to talk to Richard, who is sitting on a bench, he says hello Richard, Richard asks do they know eachother, Sawyer says he's the guy who killed his men, that he heard some gunshots, saw two men throwing a bag over a woman's head, gave them a chance to put their weapons down, but one of them took a shot at him, he defended himself, Richard asks if that's so, he asks if his people know that he's telling him that, Sawyer says they aren't his people, so if he has some kind of a truce with them, it hasn't been broken, Richard asks if he's not a member of the DHARMA Initiative, then what is he, Sawyer asks if he buried the bomb, Richard is confused, Sawyer says the hydrogen bomb with Jughead written on the side, he says that yes he knows about it, he also knows that 20 years ago, some bald fellow limped into his camp and fed him some mumbo-jumbo about being his leader, and then poof, he disappeared right in front of him, he asks if that's ringing a bell, he says that man is John Locke and he's waiting for him to come back, La Fleur asks Richard if he still thinks he's a damn member of the DHARMA Initiative, Richard says no, he guesses that he doesn't, but that no matter who he is, two of his men are dead, and his people need some kind of justice, Richard asks La Fleur what are they going to do about that. Notes:

• What's up with Sawyer's beard? This kept bothering the hell out of me the whole episode.
• When one of the hostiles fired his weapon toward Sawyer, it appeared that a bullet went toward him but didn't hit him.
• The mechanic that Sawyer asks where Juliet is has a name tag on his jumpsuit that says Tom. This could possibly be a younger Tom, Zeke, Mr. Friendly, if you will.
• Though I hate the relationship stuff, it's nice to see Sawyer happy and not being used.

I liked this episode, but the stupid love crap makes me want to vomit. I was really hoping that aspect of the show was over now.

4.11 Cabin Fever

1. Record player, Buddy Holly's "Everyday" is playing, it's the 1950s, a young girl getting ready, tells mom she's going out with him, that mom can't stop her, mom says he's twice her age, calls her Emily, says she loves him, runs out of house and is hit by a car, goes to hospital, says she's pregnant, five months, almost six months, the baby is born, it's a boy, nurse says he's okay, but it's real early, he's too little to hold, they take him away, Emily says to call him John. Hurley asks who builds a cabin in the middle of the jungle, Locke says he doesn't know, says hopefully the man in the cabin will tell them about the people trying to kill them, Ben says he's following Hurley, Locke says they should stop and make camp, says he doesn't know what will happen when the Freighties come back to the Island.
3. Sayid wakes Desmond, says the helicopter is back with injured men, Keamy wants to know how many people are on the Island, where they are, says the Captain gave him up, but the Captain says no, Keamy goes after Michael, says he gave his name to Ben, tries to shoot him, but nothing happens, Captain says he's only the guy who can fix the engine.
4. 3. The search and tests for the leader of the Island given by Richard Alpert is much like the Tibetan Buddhist ritual for the choice of the Dalai Lama. The Panchen Lama chooses the Dalai Lama, which is much like Richard Alpert's role. I'm guessing that Jacob chose Richard as the Panchen. In Tibetan Buddhism, the Dalai Lama also chooses the Panchen. So, which came first, the Panchen or the Dalai, the chick or the egg?
   
4. Richard Alpert gave young Locke the same compass that he gave him on the Island, which John then returned back to him in the past, which Richard then shows him in this episode.
5. The drawing of the Smoke Monster is reminiscent of the scene in Exodus, Part 2.

7. I feel really bad for young and older Locke in this episode. He was abandoned by his Biological Mother, then his adoptive Mother is mean to him, Richard Alpert is snappy with hm, get gets beat up in high school, made fun of, and stuffed in a locker, and then he has to go through grueling Physical Therapy after getting thrown eight stories out of a window from his own father.
8. Locke is locked in a locker. He likes boxing. Very funny.
9. The way that Matthew Abaddon says "Mr. Locke" is just like Walt. This led to theories that this is future Walt, which is obviously impossible, but still cool.
10. The scene where Matthew Abaddon pushes John Locke in his wheelchair to a flight of stairs and stops totally freaks me out. Every time I watch it, I think he's going to push him down the flight of stairs. That scene just creeps me the hell out.
    
11. Terry O'Quinn's acting in the Physical Therapy scenes is so great. He doesn't use his legs at all. He really makes you feel his pain and believe that he's paralyzed.
12. John Locke finally takes Matthew Abaddon's advice and goes on a walkabout in Walkabout.
    
13. Claire clearly had been smoking some illegal substances in that cabin. She also freaks me out in that scene.
    

3.20 The Man Behind the Curtain

1. A pregnant woman is giving birth in the woods, her name is Emily, something is wrong, she has a boy, she says it hurts, bleeding, her husband says no one knows they're there, carries her and the baby, a road, Portland 32 miles, a car pulls over, a woman and a man stop to help them, he says they were hiking, that she's not due yet, they're going to bring them to the hospital, Emily says to call him Benjamin, then she dies. 2. Ben is holding a carved doll, it's his birthday, Richard asks about bringing the tape to Juliet, Ben says he was supposed to do it yesterday, he's missing his recorder. From Lostpedia

Locke returns with his body, wants Ben to tell him everything he wants to know about the island, says to start at the beginning, Ben says it's not that simple, he's not their leader, Jacob is, he can't take him there, Richard doesn't know where he is, Ben says he was born on the island, one of the last that was, most people he brought there, Jacob talks to him, trust him, tells him what to do, no one else has seen him, Locke says he's lying, that he's the man behind the curtain, because his hand is shaking, that his people are stupid to believe him.
